Vendor right of reply
How a company answers a review of its own product, and what we guarantee.
You can always answer
If a review of your product is published here, you may reply to it, and your reply is published beside the review rather than somewhere a reader has to go looking. That is the case whether or not you have claimed your listing, and whether or not you agree with a word of it.
To reply you need a claimed listing, which needs an address at your own company’s domain. That is what proves the reply is from the company and not from someone with an opinion about it.
The rules
- You may reply to a review of your own product. The software refuses a reply to anyone else’s.
- One reply per review. A comment thread under a review becomes an argument, and a reader learns nothing from an argument.
- At least 20 characters, and your reply is moderated on the same terms as the review it answers.
- You may not post a review, of your own product or of a competitor’s.
What we guarantee
- Your reply is published alongside the review, not beneath a fold or on another page.
- We do not edit it.
- We do not remove a review because you replied to it, and replying is never treated as agreeing with it.
- If the review contains a factual error about your product, say which fact: that is a correction, and it is handled as one.
